Just a little information first for those who read my writing blog. Last week I was going to do a post on one of the reasons I enjoy writing as a career path, and think it was a good choice. However, I have noticed that I spend almost my entire week working on my blogs and have little to no time to spend on other writing pursuits or jobs around the home that need doing. As a result, I have regrettably decided to put no further updates on my writing blog. However, you are welcome to contact me with queries through my social media accounts or Patreon.
Without further ado, here is my three paragraph summary essay on the second book in the third series, Dark River.
The main theme in Dark River is right and wrong within the structure of the clans. Jaypaw is constantly told when to use, and not use his power. He is told it is wrong to spy on other cats dreams, but when he does, it is often as a favour to his siblings and other clan mates. Lionpaw begins getting Heatherpaw, a WindClan apprentice, in secret, but eventually accepts that it is wrong. He realises he cannot remain truly loyal to ThunderClan, and focus properly on his warrior training while seeing her. Hollypaw questions the importance of the Warrior Code. She gets very worried when Millie choses to keep her name, but later bread the Code when trying to prevent a battle. Eventually, Hollypaw sees the Code as the most important thing for a warrior, and accepts that to follow it she can no longer be good friends with Willowpaw. All three characters do something considered ‘wrong’, and do their best to do the right thing in the future.
The main characters in Dark River are firstly Hollypaw, Jaypaw, and Lionpaw, who are the main protagonists of the story. Willowpaw also plays an important role as Hollypaw’s close friend. Lionpaw has a close friend and love interest in the WindClan apprentice, Heatherpaw. The main antagonist in the book is WinClan as a collective group. These characters all play strong roles in the key situations that occur.
In Dark River, there are three main situations. Firstly, Lionpaw and Heatherpaw have a secret relationship, during which they discover the tunnels. RiverClan loses their camp. ThunderClan fears WindClan will invade their territory, and WindClan fears RiverClan will invade theirs. Eventually, WindClan confronts both RiverClan and ThunderClan about stealing their kits. The secret relationship, the loss of the RiverClan camp, and the rising battle tensions within the clans are all the main situations that Dark River covers.
I am sorry that I have not included pictures in this, or the last Warriors blog post. I am having trouble with my phone, which is what I usually use to take pictures of the covers.
If you have some warriors art that I can use, you can contact me in the blog comments, on social media, or on Patreon. Any and all art will be credited, and is most appreciated.
I am wondering if anyone would be interested in having these essays read out on YouTube instead of having them in written form on my blog. Please comment your thoughts below or let me know on social media.
