The Beginning of The Warrior Code - Summary

No more long essays for a bit. We’re going back to the summary essays on the short sotries in Code of the Clans.

The main theme in the short story The Beginning of The Warrior Code from the guidebook Code of the Clans is that of loyalty. It looks at the strength of loyalty to a significant other and offspring. It also says that despite this strength of feeling, loyalty toward one’s family should come before any other. Divided loaylties mean one might act otutside their family’s best interests.

The two main cahracters in The Beginning of The Warrior Code are Ryewhisker of WindClan and Cloudberry of Riverclan. Ryewhisker’s loyalty to his mate Cloudberry, and her unborn kits, leads him to protect her from his own clanmatesa in battle. The Clan leaders are secondary to these charcaters.

The main situations in the short sotory are as follows. Ryewhisker and Cloudberry are expecting kits. They discuss the kits furtures. WindClan retreats from a fight. RiverClan stops them from retreating. Ryewhisker saves Cloudberry, but is then killed. The Clan leaders gather to discuss new rules to prevent this repeating. They promise to try and meet in peace each full moon.
