Fire Alone can Save our Clan - Summary Essay

Now we're at the section in Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans on prophecies.

I always loved the books' prophecies, signally how they were often written in large print on the back cover above the blurb. Learning the prophecy long before the characters meant I had plenty of time to guess its meaning. This was always fun to me.

And them being cryptic. To me, the prophecies felt like riddles (which I also love to tell and solve).

Although, I know many people hated this about the prophecies from what I've seen from videos on YouTube and comments in forums. Couldn't StarClan be clearer? What's the point of prophecies if the cats don't understand them until they come true? But what are your thoughts on them?

Prophecies, like them or hate them, they're a part of life in Warriors. Let's see what the characters' stories about them have to say.

Here's the summary essay on the first one, Fire Alone can Save our Clan.

The central theme in Fire Alone can Save our Clan is trust. When you have a faith, trusting your belief in it can give you great solace and sometimes help you make decisions. Your gut instinct is another vital decision-making tool. It is often correct and, as such, should be trusted. Although StarClan is cryptic, they have helped her before, so Bluestar must trust them when they say fire can save the Clan. Losing her trust in them could hurt her and her Clan. She also needs to trust her gut instinct that the kittypet is the fire, and he could be a Clan cat.

The main character in the short story is the protagonist, Bluestar. The story is told in the first person by her to the reader. Bluestar also acts as the antagonist. She questions the Clans' ancestors, StarClan, saying 'fire is feared by all the Clans. How could it save us?" Pg 125. She is also wary of her gut telling her that the ginger kittypet is the fire mentioned in the prophecy. The few other characters mentioned in Fire Alone can Save our Clan are minor or incidental. They do not play a significant enough role to be considered main characters.

The main situations in the short story are listed here. StarClan gives Bluestar the prophecy 'Fire alone can save our Clan." Pg 125, which she questions, asking how fire could save them when it is feared by all the Clans. Bluestar sees an orange kittypet while our on patrol, and the sun lights up his pelt like fire. She sees him hunting a mouse well and defending himself from Greypaw's attack. Bluestar invited him into the Clan, hoping he was the cat of prophecy. When she died, she knew Fireheart would protect, defend, and save ThunderClan.
