Goosefeather Curse - Summary Essay

I enjoyed reading Goosefeather’s Curse each of the few times I did. I think the explanations for his strange behaviours in the story were great. What did you guys think of them?
I related to him is some ways. I’ve always felt a little different from those around me. My reasons were less seeing dead cats and more having mental conditions that made me think differently, though. Haha!
I was also very smart compared to some people around me. I’d been in the top classes all through high school, was constantly learning outside of school for pure enjoyment (and I still do), and as a result, was treated funny by other people my age!
Are there any of you who were always told you have a high IQ? Or outpaced a lot of your friends in academia? Or maybe you’re more street smart than most people?
I also related Goosefeather being told he was weird for talking to ‘himself’ when he was talking to dead cats, to the way people talked about me when I was young. I spent a lot of my time talking to animals and plants! I was a strange kid.
Come to think of it, I still talk to animals a lot, and am accused of talking to myself! Do any of you do that?
Although Goosefeather is not someone I particularly like as a  character, this novella will probably be one of my favourite Warriors stores for quite a long time. Depending on how long till several better ones come along that is. The’s so many great ones still coming out!
Sometimes I wish I could spend my whole time reading them and sharing my thoughts, but I’d need a few more patrons for that.

Now here is the summary essay for the second novella in the Shadows of The Clans collection, Goosefeather’s Curse.

book cover for 'Warriors: Shadows of The Clans'

The main theme in Gossefeather’s Curse is the pain of knowledge. Someone knowing more than others can make people distrustful of them. Knowing the past and future can also be depressing because one is aware of the worst things that can happen. Goosefeather is accused of cheating at games and breaking the rules because of what he knows. He finds he cannot change the futures he sees. He feels isolated from his clanmates because of his abilities. Towards the end of the novella, he confirmed ‘he was doomed’ (pg 180) and realises his gift “will bring [him] nothing but pain” (pg 180).
The main character in Goosefeather’s Curse is the protagonist, Goosefeather himself, who is the character the reader follows throughout the story. Cloudberry, Goosefeather’s mentor, is the main supporting character in the story. The main antagonist in the novella is not a character, but rather Goosefeather’s abilities, that allow him to see dead cat as if they were alive, and give him visions of the past, present, and future. All the other characters in the story play minor or incidental roles.
The main situations in the novella follow. Cloudberry and Doestar realise that Goosekit can see ghosts. Goosekit becomes Cloudberry’s apprentice, but cats don’t like that he’s younger than six moons. At the moonstone, StarClan cats bombard Goosepaw with prophecies. Goosepaw is labelled as weird by the rest of his clanmates. After having a vision of a ThunderClan patrol being attacked so they can be rescued, Goosepaw is given his full name, which most cats resent. He sees horrible visions of the future, but despite the clans best efforts after the warning, it still comes true. The story ends with a vision of the new leader of ThunderClan becoming a kittypet.
