The Raging Storm - Summary

This is the summary book for the summary essay for the final book in the Vision of Shadows arc, The Raging Storm.
Note: I only have a copy of the first book in the seventh series at the moment, and may not have a copy of the second in a fortnights time, so this may be the second last summary essay of the main series for a while. Instead I will be looking at the novellas, mangas, and super editions.

poster that reads We can only point out the path. We can't make them follow it. The clans must make peace and stand together. Or the coming storm will tear us all away.

The main theme in The Raging Storm is solving problems. People face many different problems throughout their lives. The solution for one persons problem is rarely the same as the solution for another’s. Alderheart’s instincts, and his faith in StarClan showed him a possible cure for Puddleshine’s infection caused by twoleg poison. On hearing Alderheart say that he was trusting his instincts, Twigbranch thought this might also be effective in her problem of training her apprentice. Instead, she had to find what training method best allowed Flypaw to flourish, not what suited her most. Leafstar and Tigerstar seemed to want the other clans to solve their problem regarding territory, and the other clans thought it didn’t concern them. It was not resolved until all the clans sat down to discuss the issue, and listened to one another.
The main characters in the story are as follows: The protagonists are the three cats whose point of view we follow. These are Violetshine, Twigbranch, and Alderheart. The main antagonists in the book include ShadowClan as a whole, Leafstar, and, to a lesser extent, Juniperclaw, and the cats from the other clans who don’t think SkyClan should stay by the lake. This list covers all the main characters and character groups in The Raging Storm. All the other characters and character groups are either minor or incidental.
The main situations in The Raging Storm include: Finleap and Twigbranch are training their apprentices, but Twigbranch is having trouble teaching Flypaw. Puddleshine gets caught in some silverthorn, and is taken to ThunderClan to be healed. Alderheart finds a cure for a twoleg poison infection. Tigerstar takes Puddleshine back to ShadowClan, along with Alderheart to heal him. Shadowkit has visions of drowning. SkyClan attacks a ShadowClan hunting party raiding their territory. ShadowClan respond by attacking SkyClan’s camp, and Juniperclaw poisons their prey. StarClan sends a vision saying all five clans must stay by the lake. When so few of the other clans agree to help solve their territory dispute with ShadowClan, Leafstar decides her clan should return to the gorge. All the clans realise SkyClan should have stayed, and a patrol of warriors goes to find them. Shadowkit brings all four clans together by fulfilling his vision, and almost drowning. All the clans agree to change their borders so that SkyClan will have equal territory with them.
