Note: I am sorry that last weeks post did not come out here until today. All posts are available on the Saturday for free viewing on Patreon.

Here is the summary essay for the first book in The Broken Code series, Lost Stars.

The main them in Lost Stars is the fear caused by the silence of guides. Everybody has guides of some kind in their lives. This can be a person or group, their beliefs, or a set of values, among other things. Peoples guides help direct their choices and actions. The clans’ guides are the StarClan and the Warrior Code that they gave them. When StarClan won’t communicate them, they beginning to worry, more so with the colder than normal leaf-bare, and argue with each other more too. Without StarClan, they also begin to question the Warrior Code that they gave them.
The main characters in the book include the three main protagonists, whom, through following, we get the viewpoints of three clans through. These are Birchfrost, form ThunderClan, Rootpaw, from SkyClan, and Shadowpaw, from ShadowClan. Therein protagonists include Tree, Tigerstar, and the cat whose voice Shadowpaw hears in his vision, frightening the other clans of him, and frightening Shadowpaw himself. All the other characters in Lost Stars are minor, or incidental.
The main situations in the book are Leaf bare freezes the moon pool, and StarClan stops communicating with the clans. Birchpaw saves Rootpaw from drowning, and Rootpaw falls in love with her. Birchpaw attempts her warrior assessment twice and manages to pass the second time, earning the name of Birchfrost. Shadowpaw has visions warning of darkness in the clans, and that the clans will be punished for cats breaking the warrior code. The clans are sceptical of listening to him. Bramblestar falls ill, and Shadowpaw has a vision of how to save him, which eventually works. Four of the clans try to break the ice freezing the moon pool to get back in touch with StarClan. Tigerstar is angry that his clan was left out of this clan, and that the other clans desecrated the sacred place that the moon pool is.
