Here is the summary essay for the final book in the Power Of Three series, Sunrise.
The theme running throughout Sunrise is 'ignorance is bliss'. That is to say, knowing the truth, sometimes brings great pain with it. The book opens with Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf knowing that they are not the kits of Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw. They feel a huge turmoil within them as they try to process this, and try to get there lives on track without the prophecy, believing it no longer applies to them. Slowly they piece together that Leafpool is their mother. This is shocking as it is against the rules that they have known since they were kits. It is especially painful for Hollyleaf who has made upholding the Warrior Code her purpose in life. Later, Yellowfang reveals to Jayfeather that Crowfeather is their father. This causes more turmoil fr the three littermates, and casques pain for Crowfeather also when they tell him. The whole clan, especially those closest to Squirrelflight and Leafpool also feel shocked to know that they kept this secret. Knowing the truth hurt everyone in the clan.
The main characters in the book are: the three protagonists, Jayfeather, Hollyleaf, and Lionblaze; the antagonist, Sol; the ThunderClan parent figures for the protagonists, Squirrelflight, Leafpool, and Brambleclaw. Other characters played small, minor roles supporting less key plot points.
The main situations are the clan tries to figure out who killed Ashfur, and finally blame Sol. An expedition goes to retrieve Sol, who clams he knows nothing. The three find out the truth about their parents, and Hollyleaf reveals it to all the clans at the gathering. Other plot points starting in Sunrise are quickly resolved, and are less important to the overall story.
