Here is the summary essay for the fifth book in the Warriors: Power Of Three series, Long Shadows.
The main theme in Long Shadows is the past, and the impact it has on the present. In this book Lionblaze realises that Tigerstar’s values, and ambition have not changed at all from when he was alive. Jayfeather realises how special he and his siblings are. They are the ones with the ‘power of the stars in their paws’ because they have lived before at the lake, himself as Jay’s Wing, in a group of ancient cats, who leave to live in the mountains, where they become The Tribe Of Rushing Water. Ashfur still feels the pain of Squirrelflight’s rejection of him, and does everything he can to cause her the most pain.
The main characters in this book are again the three main protagonists, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf, the main antagonist, Sol, Rock, the ancient cats, as a group, and Squirrelflight and Ashfur, who cause the protagonists’ world to fall apart. The other characters are only minor or incidental in this book.
The main situations are the three protagonists create a sign from StarClan to convince ShadowClan to kick out Sol, Jayfeather visits the ancient cats who lived by the lake and leads them to the mountains, and Squirrelflight reveals that she is not the mother of Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf, which Ashfur almost reveals to all the clans at the gathering.
