The Darkest Hour - Summary

Here is the summary essay about the final book in the first arc, The Darkest Hour.

Faith is the main theme of The Darkest Hour. Firestar thinks about his own, and other cats’ faith in StarClan constantly. Several times he notes Cloudtail’s absence of faith, he thanks StarClan, believing they are the cause, when things work out positively in the book, and blames Tigerstar, and his disregard of StarClan, when things go bad. Towards the end, Firestar questions his own faith, but when the battle with Scourge is won, realises it is his faith that makes him and the other warriors the cats that they are. In the end, faith won over tyranny.
The main characters in The Darkest Hour are Firestar, the protagonist; Whitestorm, Firestar’s deputy; Sandstorm, Firestar’s mate; Tigerstar, the main antagonist in the first part of the book; Scourge, the antagonist at the end of the book.
The situation is the book is Tigerstar attempts to join all four clans into one clan, TigerClan, under his control. In his efforts, he enlists the help of BloodClan, who’s leader ultimately kills him. All four clans then temporarily join together as LionClan, to drive BloodClan out of the forest.

I hope you have enjoyed these so far, and am going to continue these summary essays, next with the third Warriors series, The Power Of Three.
