Forest of Secrets - Sumary

Here is another three paragraph summary. As always, feedback is appreciated.

The main theme in Forest of Secrets is secrets: the problems they will cause, and that they will always be uncovered. Greystripe’s secret affair with Silverstream means Fireheart has to lie to his classmates to cover up for his friend. Furthermore, Greystripe is disloyal to ThunderClan and eventually leaves. Bluestar’s secret about her kits means she is sympathetic to RiverClan, sometimes to a fault. She is so afraid of someone finding out, that when Fireheart brings up missing ThunderClan kits, she becomes angry and disregards everything else he has said. Tigerclaw’s secret of killing Redtail and planning to kill Bluestar, puts him in danger of everyone who knows. In Forest of Secrets, this is primarily Fireheart. All these secrets caused problems for the cats who had them and the cats around them. They were all uncovered by the end of the book.
The main characters in this book are as follows: Fireheart, the protagonist; Greystripe, Fireheart’s best friend; Silverstream, Greystripe’s love interest; Tigerclaw, the antagonist; Bluestar, the clan leader.
The main situations are Greystripe’s growing interest in Silverstream. This and her having kits parallels with Fireheart learning about Bluestar’s lost kits. Forest of Secrets also sees Fireheart finally proving Tigerclaw’s treachery.

  1. There were a couple secrets covered in FoS, such as ThunderClan housing Brokentail. This was something that, once revealed, brought great harm to the clan by the two clans most affected by his tyranny.

Ravenpaw living as a "loner" with Boulder was also kept a secret right up to the end when FH revealed his involvement in removing RP from the clan. This secret being revealed wouldn't be an issue to the clan outside of Tigerclaw, though it would put Ravenpaw in harm's way. Now that Tigerclaw knows RP is alive, both he and boulder are very likely in great danger.

Tigerclaw also colluding with the ShadowClan rogues could also be considered as a secret, though that wasn't necessarily a long term secret but rather a ploy to keep his secret of killing Redtail undercover with endless plotting. Most of Tigerclaw's secrets were revealed to the benefit of the clan.

Indeed, the only secrets kept as such ares BlueStar's kits and arguably Yellowfang's affiliation to Brokentail, both of which, as observed by Fireheart, were better kept.

Some of the secrets did indeed cause problems when revealed, but I feel like many of those problems were made worse by them being secrets in the first place. My main point is that secrets are always found out in the end. Each time they were, it caused more trouble for the cats who had the secret in the first place and/or those involved.
