How Snakes Came to The Forest - Summary Essay

It took me a while to prepare this for posting. Sorry about that, guys. I really like this story. I like all the mythologies about the great cats, actually, but this one and the idea of tigers having stripes from shadows are really good.

The main theme in How Snakes Came to The Forest is understanding your enemy. Many people know that understanding their enemy will help them to win a fight against them. Some people may forget or disregard what they know through overconfidence in their skills. No matter how good your natural skills are, you should never underestimate your enemy. Sunpelt already knew ‘snakes are cunning and will outwit us every time’, but believed his abilities would allow him to subdue Mouthclaw. She ends up tricking him with a wish she grants in return for her life.

The main character in this short story, from Warriors Field Guide: Secrets of the Clans, is the protagonist, Sunpelt. Sunpelt is introduced to the reader in the first sentence of the first paragraph of the short story. They are also present or mentioned in the majority of the other paragraphs of the story. No other character takes action or is mentioned by another character as often as Sunpelt. This makes the LionClan warrior, Sunpelt, the main character of How Snakes Came to The Forest.

These are the situations in the short story. Sunbelt heard of Mouthclaw. Although cats were forbidden from snake rocks, Sunpelt went there to prove himself. He angered Mouthclaw, and she emerged. They fought all day long. When Mouthclaw couldn’t fight, she offered the warrior a wish in return for her life. Sunpelt wished she was the size of a cat's tail. Mouthclaw became thousands of small snakes. Horrified, Sunpelt confessed to his leader, who chided him but also praised him, for one of the tiny snakes would not be able to swallow a cat whole as Mouthclaw had.

If you have any other thoughts, I’d love to hear them. And share this around. You find Warrior Cat fans you never knew about all over the place. Thanks for reading.
