My First Sight Of Fourtrees - Summary Essay

So, My First Sight Of Fourtrees. Halfway through the Warriors Field Guide: Secrets Of The Clans now.

Do you know how hard it is to write about tiny pieces? I mean, take ten seconds of music and try to write six lines just about the sort of instruments used and why.

This is what you have to do for essays. Most essay paragraphs are six to seven lines long. Three is too short, and ten is too long, for that sort of writing. And in these summary essays, each paragraph focuses on one aspect: theme, characters, and situations.

It's great to see people reading them since I do have to put in a bit of work. So thank you all.

And this short story is only two pages long, the majority of which are taken up by a picture and blank space. Really, it's only a page of writing. But I did it. The essay's done, so I hope you enjoy it.

The central theme in My First Sight Of Fourtrees is awe. It looks at the excitement, amazement, and wonder seen by the young. When a person is introduced to a place for the first time, they are often filled with awe at new or different features. Bluepaw explains how leaving the nursery makes you yearn to see Fourtrees. She describes the clearing and cats in words that show her feelings at seeing it "...Their fur looked silver…like the peak of a mountain whose roots spread beneath the whole forest." Pg. 91. She mentions fur tingling, giving light to the excitement she feels.

There is only one main character that appears in this short story. This is the protagonist, Bluepaw. The story is told in the first person, through her point of view. First, she introduces the reader to the idea of Fourtrees and gatherings. Then she recounts the events leading to her getting invited to her first gathering, also describing how it feels entering Fourtrees with her Clan. All the other characters mentioned in My First Sight Of Fourtrees play only minor or incidental roles in the short story.

The main situations in My First Sight Of Fourtrees are as follows: Bluepaw explains how you long to see Fourtrees after leaving the nursery, and how long you must wait. She remembers why she was invited to her first gathering. She recalls the moon, and her mother beside her, on the journey there. She describes how the oaks, other cats, and Great Rock appear when she looks down into the clearing. She vows that she will one day be the leader of ThunderClan, leading her Clan into the clearing, and leaping onto the Great Rock. These are all the main situations found in the short story.
